It costs more than just an hourly wage to employ someone today.
We know this already; but do you realize just how much more it's costing you?
Running employment ads, conducting interviews, sorting through
resumes, all take time; it takes you away from your core business. When you
finally hire a clerk to work in your accounting department at a rate of $15.00
per hour, you are really paying $20.00. You probably know that 30% is the
industry standard for taxes and benefits. That's $20.00 out of your pocket,
assuming you can find a clerk who knows what they're doing for $15.00 an hour.
Then there's the time and cost of training them; what would that be
three weeks of time and salary? If your new employee is personable and
efficient, that would make you very lucky indeed. However, if they are a
little sloppy, make mistakes, irritate your customers by being less than happy
to provide customer service, then it's difficulty to quantify what they are
costing you in the long run.
Mistakes cost time, money and eventually, customer accounts.
What happens when they are out of the office? And we haven't even begun to
count the cost of the space they need to occupy, or the equipment they need
to do their job, furniture, water, lights, heat, air conditioning; you do the
math!
It's been estimated by the American Accounting Association that
to generate just one invoice, it costs between $ 4.00 and $ 10.00.
Now obviously, something must be horribly wrong if you're really laying out
$ 10.00 a pop to generate your invoices. But someone is, or they wouldn't
have been able to compile these statistics.
At ICS, Inc. we are proud of our rates, because we know we are
giving our customers the best value for their dollar. We are so proud we
publish them! Click
